Dear YMCA Friends,
I want to take a moment to reflect on the incredible impact we’ve made together. From strengthening community connections to expanding programs that nurture youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility, 2025 has been a year of growth and resilience.
Raising the Bar in Youth Sports
We’re elevating the game in our soccer, basketball, and volleyball leagues, offering a higher level of play while staying true to our mission of fostering growth and character. At the Y, we believe that sports and healthy competition—when balanced—create life-changing outcomes for youth. Our goal is to provide meaningful experiences for athletes of all abilities, ensuring every child has the chance to learn, grow, and thrive. As we look ahead to the 2026 World Cup and the LA28 Olympic Games, we’re inspired by the global celebration of sport and the powerful transformation it brings to young people across our nation. Together, we’re building the next generation of leaders—on and off the field!
Programs That Serve Every Stage of Life
It’s not all sports at the Y—and that’s something we’re especially proud of. Our Aquatics program now offers access to two year-round pools at Cypress College and Servite High School, with classes available for swimmers of all levels. Water safety saves lives, and we are committed to helping families feel confident around all types of water.
Our fast-growing Dance and Performing Arts program recently hosted a Winter Showcase attended by more than 400 community members—a joyful celebration of creativity and youth expression. If you missed it, be sure to join us for the next one—I promise it will be a highlight of your day.

Developing Tomorrow’s Leaders
We are thrilled to announce that 12 outstanding high school students from our Youth in Government program will represent the Anaheim Family YMCA at the statewide culminating conference in Sacramento. This incredible weekend offers students the opportunity to engage in hands-on leadership, civic responsibility, and policy-making experiences. We are proud and honored to work with such dedicated and passionate young leaders who have made this year’s program a resounding success.
Serving the Community When It Matters Most
On Thanksgiving Day, we proudly brought back our Y Gives Thanks event—serving more than 2,500 meals at The Grove and Angel Stadium. Thanks to generous sponsors, dedicated volunteers, and our incredible staff team, this beloved tradition returned for its 37th year to nourish both body and spirit.

Building for the Future
This January, we look forward to turning dirt as Phase Two of our expansion project begins. As we approach our 115th year of service, this investment ensures the Anaheim Family YMCA remains a place where future generations can gather, grow, and thrive. Be on the lookout for weekly updates—and opportunities to be part of this exciting next chapter.

Celebrating Community Champions
I am thrilled to share that the Anaheim Ducks of the National Hockey League will be honored as our Charles Pearson Honoree at our March 7th Gala.
We will also present the inaugural Jeff Frieden Community Impact Award, recognizing an individual who exemplifies the YMCA’s core values through outstanding service to our community.

Spreading Joy This Holiday Season
Our annual Y Toy Drive, led by Jessica Lozoya and supported by our generous community partners SoCal Chevorlet , Angels Baseball, Numa Networks, F&M Bank, Clarion Hotel, OC Soccer Club, Tesla Anaheim, Girl Scout Troop 1158 and Radiant Brewery provided toys to over 600 children this Christmas.

Your Support Makes It All Possible
This year alone, the Anaheim Family YMCA served more than 24,000 individuals. We never turn anyone away due to inability to pay, and we continue to expand programs, events, and food access to meet growing community needs.
As we prepare to celebrate 175 years of the Y USA and 115 years of Y impact in Anaheim, I prayerfully ask for your support. Your year-end gift ensures the Y remains strong, welcoming, and ready to serve—today and for generations to come.
Thank you for believing in your Y. There truly is no place like this place.
With sincere gratitude,
Brent Finlay
President and CEO
