Last week, 70 dedicated PepsiCo employees from across Southern California rolled up their sleeves to make a difference for local students. Together, they packed backpacks filled with brand-new school supplies, all destined for the YMCA’s Anaheim Achieves after school program at Ponderosa Elementary.
These backpacks will ensure that students start the school year equipped and ready to learn and feeling confident that their community cares.
This partnership goes beyond backpacks. As part of their commitment, PepsiCo will also be providing scholarships for youth programming at the Anaheim Family YMCA. These scholarships will open doors for more children and teens to access life-changing opportunities, from sports leagues and swim lessons to leadership programs and summer camps.
A heartfelt thank you goes out to current Anaheim Family YMCA Board Member, Claire Padmore-Clarke, whose leadership and coordination made this special volunteer opportunity possible. Her commitment to supporting YMCA kids continues to inspire and uplift those around her.
We are grateful for PepsiCo’s generosity and for the spirit of service shown by each volunteer. This is what community looks like! People coming together to invest in our future, one backpack and one child at a time.
