Happy Holidays from the Y

Dear YMCA Friends,

At the Anaheim Family YMCA, we connect people to a greater sense of purpose – and to each other – to make our community stronger. As we wind down and reflect on the unprecedented difficulties and crisis that confronted us this year, we’re incredibly proud of all we have done to serve our community.

The escalating needs of a community in crisis pushed us this year to show up, to move at the speed of need, and to bring our mission into life in an even bigger way. Through it all, we pressed forward to keep our promise to our community, stay relentlessly focused on the short- and long-term needs of community, and be there for those who needed us most.

Here are some of the highlights we had this year:

  • Provided over 20,000 participants with YMCA programs such as sports, performing arts, swim and our Anaheim Achieves after school program
  • Engaged 960 volunteers with YMCA Community Service Projects
  • Since starting the YMCA Food Program in 2014, we have served over 5.6 million meals in our community
  • Completed Phase 1 of our YMCA Community Complex and received $2.5 million from Sharon Quirk-Silva to work on Phase 2
  • Raised $207,000 at our 3rd annual YMCA Gala
  • Engaged over 1,300 youth in our Avanza Workforce Development Program
  • Launched new sports partnerships with the Orange County Soccer Club and the Anaheim Ducks

When you get involved with YMCA community events, you not only enjoy unique experiences, you impact thousands of youth, teens, adults and families. Event proceeds benefit families and children in YMCA programs. We hope you make plans to join us at our upcoming signature event on March 4, 2023 – The 4th Annual YMCA Gala will be held at the Westin Anaheim Resort.

With the year-end approaching, the Anaheim Family YMCA continues to welcome contributions to its We Build People Annual Support Campaign. All donations to the Support Campaign stay here in the community to provide scholarships for youth, families and seniors who otherwise would not have the opportunity to enjoy the benefits of YMCA programs. More information can be found on our website at

We are most grateful to the continued generosity of the time and talent of our Board of Directors; our dedicated and talented staff who constantly strive to provide the very best programs and service for our community; our residents who pitch in and help in so many ways; and our many partners in the community who continue to join us in contributing to the health, fitness and wellbeing of our families we serve.

Thank you for being a part of our Y community and walking alongside us in this journey.

Best wishes for a happy and healthy holiday season.
