Finding A Place To Call Home

This year, we had the opportunity to take over 150 campers in a week-long adventure on Catalina Island.

Camp Fox helps teenagers ages 13-18 disconnect from everyday (phones, computers, television) distractions and reconnect with nature, peers and volunteer mentors who are ready to invest in their potential. They experience an array of activities, including music, arts and crafts, cabin talks and camp fires, and outdoor activities which include snorkeling, kayaking, tubing, hiking, rope courses and archery.

Alayna Mendoza, 18 and Emilia Mendoza, 16 are sisters and have been attending Camp Fox for four years. This was Alayna’s final year (now attending Cal State San Marcos) and Emilia has two more years of camp.
Alayna and Emilia have been in foster care for 5 years, got split up, but are now reunited.
“Camp broke me out of my shell because of being a foster child,” said Emilia. ” With the campers, you click instantly. It’s one big family. We keep in contact even after camp,” replied Alayna.
Camp Fox is an opportunity where campers learn important values and develop characteristics that are inspiring and life changing.
“Camp Fox has been the best thing in my life,” said Alayna.
