GYMNASTICS I – MINI STARS PARENT & ME Ages 1 ½-3

This delightful class is set-up primarily for children to be introduced to gymnastics as parents assist in the learning process. Participants will enjoy increased physical activity, stretching, discipline, and an incredible opportunity for parent and child bonding.

GYMNASTICS II – LITTLE STARS Ages 3-4

Could an Olympic medal be in your pre-schooler’s future? Expand your child’s choices by enrolling him or her in Pre-School gymnastics. All these classes teach children self-disciple, basic skill development and build your child’s self-esteem in a fun and happy atmosphere. Students will be introduced to common gymnastic apparatus. Class is held without parent participation. Apparatus include: balance beam, bars, vault, trampoline and floor.

GYMNASTICS III – BEGINNING STARS Ages 5-8

Students will enjoy this course where moving towards higher levels of gymnastics ability is fun and exciting. Gymnastics provides self-disciple, enhanced physical strength, and build self-confidence. Your child will discover the fun of gymnastics in this introduction to the basics. Apparatus include floor, balance beam, bars, and vault.

GYMNASTICS IV – INTERMEDIATE STARS Ages 8-13

This class is designed for those beyond the beginning gymnastics. In an enthusiastic learning environment, students will increase their skills and technique in a higher level of gymnastics. Physical conditioning is involved to enhance physical strength. Apparatus include floor, balance beam, bars and vault.

TUMBLING I – BEGINNING Ages 6-17

This class benefits cheerleaders and anyone that would like to enhance their tumbling skills. Tumbling focuses on basic floor excises and physical conditioning. Beginning level is recommended for those with skills below a cartwheel and backward roll.

TUMBLING II – INTERMEDIATE Ages 7-17

Are you ready for the next level? Participants will learn technique and strengthening. This level will help prep for advanced tumbling skills. Intermediate level is recommended for those that can do a cartwheel and a handstand.

TUMBLING III – ADVANCED Ages 9-17

This class focuses on advanced tumbling skills. Participants will be challenged through physical strength and self-disciple. New participants must qualify on the first day of class.

BALLET & TAP – BEGINNING Ages 5-up

Give you child a strong dance foundation with beginning ballet and tap. YMCA Dance will help develop rhythm, strength and coordination the fun way. Students will learn the basic five positions and steps of ballet and tap. Simple combinations will be introduced in an enthusiasm atmosphere. Please bring ballet shoes and tap shoes.

BALLET – INTERMEDIATE Ages 6-up

Does your ballerina already know the basics? This class will move at a slightly faster pace than beginning dance. Students will learn steps, position and combinations with technique and detail.

BALLET – ADVANCED Ages 7-up

This is a fast pace class that focuses on complex combinations, turns and choreography famous ballets. Dance experience is preferred, however, not required.

CHEERLEADING Ages 6-12

 

Students will develop the skills needed to be a team player and achieve a higher level of self-confidence. This class will introduce the basic fundamentals of cheerleading such as coordination, strength through stunting, tumbling and jumps. The cheer team practices once a week and performs at weekend basketball games. A $5.00 uniform fee is due to the instructor at the first class.

 

 

KENPO KARATE I – BEGINNING Ages 6-up

Build strength, sharpen reflexes, and build self-confidence! Students will learn the fundamentals of American Kenpo Karate. Self-defense techniques and basics in blocking, kicking, and striking will be introduced. Uniforms are available for purchases through the instructor, but are not required.

KENPO KARATE II – INTERMEDIATE Ages 6-up

The class is designed for those that are beyond the beginning karate class but are not yet ready for advanced karate. Improve self-defense techniques and basic in blocking, kicking, and striking. These classes are broken down into 3 preparatory groups depending on skills and rank.

KENPO KARATE III – ADVANCED Ages 8-up

This class is designed for those that are beyond the intermediate karate class. Students will increase their skills self-defense techniques and basic in blocking, kicking, and striking. These classes are broken down into 3 preparatory groups depending on the rank.

ADULT KENPO KARATE Teens/Adults

Benefit your spirit, mind, and body with the art of karate! This course introduces the beginning students to the art of Karate, processing to higher ranks. Take pleasure in learning self-defense and basics in blocking, striking, and punching forms. Students will have the opportunity to sharpen reflexes, build physical strength and build self-confidence.

MOVEMENT THERAPY Teens/Adults

Experience the calming effects if Eastern and Western movement therapies such as Yoga, Tai-Chi, and Qi-gong, muscle toning, Trager Technique, Authentic Movement, and Dynamic Movement all rolled into one fun and unique class.

BITTY SOCCER Ages 3-6

In this course, your little one will have fun learning basic soccer skills, sportsmanship and develop friendships in a non-competitive atmosphere. Family involvement is required; however, YMCA staff will conduct the course. All equipment is age appropriate. An optional $5 T-Shirt fee is payable to the instructor at the first class meeting.

BITTY T-BALL Ages 4-6

Introduce you child to baseball in a fun and safe environment! Your child will develop friendships, learn sportsmanship and have fun in a noncompetitive atmosphere. Family involvement is required; however, YMCA staff conducts the course. All equipment is age appropriate. Bring your own glove.

ITTY BITTY SPORTS Ages 3-6

This program is designed to help parents find out what sports their child enjoys. The 9 week program focuses on three different sports; basketball, soccer, and T-Ball. Boys and girls will learn basic skills, teamwork, and various methods of play. Parent involved is required.

YOUTH FITNESS Ages 7-13

Youth fitness can open the door to better health, greater independence and a fulfilling life. Your child can build flexibility, balance and endurance through fun sports, exercises and cooperative group games.

BOOTCAMP Teens/Adults

Improve your body strength and self-esteem. Participants work with a certified trainer in a group setting to achieve fitness goals and set a healthy life course.

VOLLEYBALL CLINIC Ages 12-17

Want to learn how to play volleyball, or just brush up on your skills? This coed program focuses on the fundamental skills of the game. Participants will learn to play and communicate as a team. Physical conditioning is involved to strengthen endurance.
