Join us at the Anaheim Marriott on April 6 for the 45th annual YMCA Good Friday Breakfast, with KaBOOM CEO, Darell Hammond
The YMCA Good Friday Breakfast is a major community event, bringing 700 local community leaders and residents together for an inspirational morning of praise and fellowship. Past speakers include Tim Sander, Gavin MacLeod, Shirley Jones, Rex Hudler, Pat Boone, Famous Amos, Mark Victor Hanson, and others.
The event is emceed by broadcasting icon Ed Arnold, and features music from the nationally-renowned Vanguard University Choir & Orchestra.

About Our Speaker: DARELL HAMMOND

Darell Hammond, CEO and founder of KaBOOM!, was instrumental in building 2,000 playgrounds to date throughout the United States. Millions of youth and families have become active through play on KaBOOM playgrounds.
KaBOOM!, founded in 1996 is a national nonprofit dedicated to creating play spaces across the country. Hammond brings together communities and corporate volunteers
Growing up with seven brothers and sisters at a residential group home outside of Chicago, he learned about volunteerism and leadership, and began to understand that great playgrounds make a big difference to kids’ development. in in underprivileged communities throughout the United States.
The KaBOOM! mission is to help communities build great play spaces through the participation and leadership of communities, with the ultimate vision of having a playground within walking distance of every child in America. The Anaheim Family YMCA is very proud of their collaboration with KaBOOM!
In June 2011, the Y, Disneyland Resort, additional Activate Anaheim partners, and 300 volunteers came together to build a new KaBOOM! Playground at Edison Park.
