The Anaheim Family YMCA held a groundbreaking event for its future new facility adjacent to Ross Park on June 29, 2018. The proposed project will be an indoor/outdoor community hub that will welcome more than 3,000 residents each week. From elected officials to business leaders and partners, it was an exciting day to officially kick off the groundbreaking of Phase One of our new YMCA facility and outdoor complex.

Among the many highlights at the ceremony was the $5 million check presentation Assemblywoman Quirk-Silva secured in the California State Budget. “As a teacher of over 20 years, I know the importance of community organizations like the YMCA. It provides a safe, family-friendly, healthy and fun place for everyone to visit, complete with after school programs and much more,” said Assemblywoman Quirk-Silva.

YMCA youth hand decorated hard hats and presented them to the Anaheim Family YMCA Board Members as a symbol of the leadership they have instilled on our leaders of tomorrow. Kids also decorated the shovels used to break ground on phase one of the capital project, which will bring new soccer arenas, activity fields, and more in the spring of 2019.
