Y Basketball teams make caring baskets to show thanks

In this spirit of thanksgiving, the Y Basketball Teams made 20 “Caring” baskets to give to Anaheim families in need.Every season of Y Basketball, we focus not only on improving our basketball skills and physical health, but also our character development. YMCA focuses on four pillars of character; Caring, Honesty, Responsibility, and Respect. Showing responsibility for the community, the teams worked together using honesty and respect for one another to complete 20 Caring baskets for Anaheim families in need.

Thanksgiving has always been a time for reflection and giving thanks. It allows us the opportunity to appreciate what we have in our families and our communities.

“It is very important to give because it shows people how caring we are for them,” wrote Daniel from the WOLVES team in his Character Essay. He continues, “The world would be a much better place if there were more caring people.”

Congratulations to the winning Basketball team coached by Pat Wilcox’s for ages 9-11 named WOLVES. The City Manager’s office donated suite tickets to the Ducks game this Friday to reward this team.
